Developing this nostalgic contemplation of my own past—as someone leaning out of the train window and watching the traveled road—I looked for organizing the experiences of my various periods. The figurative element in many of these artworks burst with its full presence. This period started in 1987, at the end of my stay in Paris. It is a period of diverse approaches including, among them, a new installation—Instauración institutional (Institutional Establishment)—after twenty-nine years of not making any single installation: I did it in 1994, following a criterion similar to the one used for previous installations, but this time I did not destroy it afterward.
In this period I also published artist’s books in which I combined the visual and literary languages—A Oriente por Occidente (1992), El Otro, la Otra y la Otredad (1994).
